Do you want to turn off your conversations on Facebook Messenger? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Using vanish mode messenger allows you to completely remove yourself from conversations with friends and contacts. Like Snapchat, this feature works bi-directionally. It’s a bi-directional chat feature
Unlike many other messaging services, Facebook Messenger now includes Vanish Mode, a bi-directional chat feature that uses end-to-end encryption to secure your conversations. In addition to end-to-end encryption, vanish mode will notify you if someone takes a screenshot of your conversation, as well as let you report misuse. All you have to do is swipe up to switch back to your normal conversation.
To enable the feature, first open the Messenger app. From the bottom of the screen, swipe up until you find the “messenger vanish mode” button. Tap on the icon and drag it until the circle fills with the text “Vanish Mode” and then tap OK. Your chat will be replaced by an empty Vanish Mode screen. You can continue typing as usual until you feel comfortable with the privacy settings.
It’s similar to Snapchat’s system
While you may have heard about Snapchat and its system on Facebook Messenger, you might not be familiar with the way it works. Snapchat is heavily based on the camera of its users, and the company estimates that its average daily active user accesses the app’s camera more than 20 times each day. It also claims that 95 percent of its users are happy just from using the app. It’s no surprise, then, that Snapchat’s Android app is growing rapidly.
Initially, Snapchat was a text-based service. Twitter gained popularity by capitalizing on short-form text messaging. Its success led to its emergence as a media giant. While Facebook’s Messenger remains primarily text-based, Snapchat focuses on sending images and videos. Its ‘Rage Shake’ feature, which makes the camera the first thing a user sees when they open the app, has been copied by Instagram.
It’s optional
Facebook Messenger has an option called Vanish Mode, which makes messages disappear after they are read by the recipient and the chat window is closed. This mode is especially useful for one-on-one chats. When using this mode, Facebook warns users when a screenshot is taken, so that they don’t receive such messages. Users can also switch it off for individual chats. However, vanish mode is not available in all countries.
To enable Vanish Mode in Messenger, you must be logged in and messaging the person. It is best to use it for private chats, though, as it will make the chat heads darker. To toggle the setting on and off, swipe upwards from the chat head. This will make the chat head dark and make it difficult to read the message contents. The privacy setting will also let you block a user and report the conversation if needed.
It’s not yet available on Instagram
Vanish Mode is a feature that allows you to send ephemeral messages to anyone you choose. The feature is only available within a specific conversation thread, and you must be a user of the Instagram app to access it. Once you enable it, you can then return to a normal chat thread by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. This feature is currently available for users in the US and a few other countries, but it will soon be coming to European Union countries as well. You can enable it in the chat settings by clicking the user’s name and selecting ‘Vanish’. The feature is available only for two-person conversations, however, and you can turn it off at any time.
The feature is currently in beta and is not yet available on Instagram. However, it will be available to users once the new Facebook Messenger app is updated. Facebook merged Instagram DM with Messenger back in August, but it’s not clear when the new app will launch. However, if you don’t want to wait for the update, you can use Vanish Mode on Instagram.
