Keep your cat hydrated with water

Make sure your cat drinks plenty of water. Most cats don’t drink enough water, especially in summer. Keep water bowls filled up with fresh water. You should do this year-round, but during the summer months it’s especially important as cats need to drink more to stay hydrated. Check the bowls multiple times a day and give them fresh water if they’re empty or get low.

Some cats will only drink if the water is running so consider investing in a pet fountain for them.

Keep an eye out for signs of dehydration. If your cat is showing signs of dehydration, take her to the vet immediately.

If you want them to have some fresh air, you could try putting up a screen on your window for them to look out of. Or you could try taking them for a walk on a leash in the evening or morning.

Parasites Care

Summertime brings fleas and other parasites that have been hiding during the winter into your yard. These pests can make your cat sick and lead to an infestation in your home. Check with your vet about a good flea preventative for your cat, which will help keep them safe from these pests.
